KNOW BEFORE YOU GO
WHEN & WHERE: We haven’t chosen a date for our next event yet, but as soon as we do, info will be posted here!
ADMISSION FEE: Free.
HOW TO COMPETE: Let us know you’re interested by clicking here. We’ll keep you posted and provide details as soon as we open registration.
FOOD & DRINK: We’ll have plenty of food truck vendors to make sure no one goes hungry! No alcohol will be sold at the event.
BYOS (Bring Your Own Stuff): Lake days are great days—so bring your whole setup (please be mindful and don’t block others with tents or umbrellas!) There’s plenty of space along the shores of Island Lake for you to lay out your blanket and set up your chairs. You can swim, too—but there is no lifeguard on duty!
WHAT ELSE? We’re glad you asked! We’ll have a pop up pro-shop on site for all your gear needs!
COMPETITION FORMAT
Each surfer will get a total of two passes (one down, one back) or six minutes for their competition run, with the exception of the Novice division which will have seven minutes to complete their two-pass run. Judging begins when the surfer passes the start/stop buoy OR drops the rope. There is no fall limit and falls will not affect the rider’s ranking, but will take away from time on the wave.
We are a WWA Sanctioned event and will, therefore, be following the WWA Competition Format with the exception of fall limits (there are no fall limits). To learn more about the judging process and to plan your run competitively, read the details here. We are not allowing scoring protest for this event. Our goal is to have a fun, but competitive grass-roots event that inspires every rider to make waves and ride hard.
The top three podium finishers in each division will be awarded during two ceremonies (morning and afternoon).
DIVISIONS
WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE OUTLAW DIVISIONS, ALL CATEGORIES WILL BE MIXED WITH BOTH MALE & FEMALE SURFERS COMPETING TOGETHER.
